Chistota i iasnostʹ iazyka, glubina mysli i predelʹnaia iskrennostʹ perezhivaniĭ kharakterizuiut proizvedenie IAmamoto TSunėtomo — velikogo samuraia, pytavshegosia po-svoemu otvetitʹ na vopros: «Kak my zhivem? Kak my umiraem?»
"Hagakure" is the most authoritative treatise devoted to bushido — the code of honor of the samurai. This was the name given in ancient Japan to a set of rules and regulations governing the behavior and daily life of samurai — a military class that defines the history of their country for centuries. The purity and clarity of language, the depth of thought and the utmost sincerity of experiences characterize the work of Yamamoto Tsunetomo, the great samurai who tried to answer the question in his own way: "How do we live? How do we die?"
