Berlin has fallen, and Hitler is dead. Keitel signed the act of unconditional surrender. Outside the gate, there is darkness and fresh air. Belov was a breath of fresh air as far as possible. Other thoughts, even forgotten ones, were beginning to come to mind. He walked slowly and didn't want the road to end. For the second day an inexplicable premonition had seized him, and he was expecting something unusual, but he did not know what. Thoughts tormented him, and peace left him, not allowing him to fully enjoy the fruits of victory.
