The central place in the book is occupied by the autobiography of the legendary director, in which he tells as openly and honestly as possible about his life, his work, and how the first is connected with the second. However, an autobiography is about one hundred and twenty pages. And there are more than eight hundred of them in the book. There are scripts, articles, a large number of interviews, and even a fragment of a thesis in which the author discusses documentary films, the dramaturgy of reality and the way of thinking of a modern person. All the material is grouped into sections, each of which reflects Kiselevsky's time working on a particular film. Here, for example, is the section "Three Colors" dedicated to the legendary film trilogy, for which Kieslowski received the "Golden Lion" in Venice and the "Silver Bear" in Berlin. Here, in addition to the scripts of all three tapes ("Three Colors: Blue", "Three Colors: White", "Three Colors: Red"), there are also conversations of Kieslevsky with Hiroshi Takanashi, Tadeusz Sobolewski, Christine McKenna, Paul Coates, Agata Otrebska and Jacek Blach. And if you look at the section dedicated to the film "Veronica's Double Life", you can read the director's diary of 1989-1990.
