Star Black Star is used to thinking of herself as crazy, because she sees things that normal people should not see: monsters that seem to have come out of hell and crave her blood. In search of salvation, she finds herself in a mysterious Order between three worlds, where she learns that monsters are not a figment of her imagination, as well as mavkas and chugaistras, mermaids and werewolves, fornicators and brownies. But even among the difficult, powerful molfars, the girl is not safe: the order is afraid that Morana, the goddess of death, is trying to break free and destroy all three worlds — warmer climes, Yavosvit and the other world. Difficult people suspect that Zoryana can help her in this, but the girl only wants to save what is left of her family, and once and for all get rid of the fears and shadows of the past.
