Lyudmila Petrushevskaya (born 1938), novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, author of fairy tales. It printed millions of copies and translated in various countries, she was awarded dozens of prizes, literary, theatrical and even musical (ranging from State and Triumph to the American "World Fantasy Award", the world fantasy award, the only in Russia).
The book "know How many women" — special. This is the first — and the jubilee — the collected works of the writer in a single volume. Here and old that have become classics, things (the early stories and the novel "Time is night"), and new fiction, plays and fairy tales. In the book, the reader will find and the most infamous texts Petrushevskaya "Puski Batya" (which is studied in the lower grades, and universities), and they coexist with fairy tales and short stories about love. Domestic drama punctuated here with chilling horror, and mystery dominates over reality, the prose sometimes sounds like the vers Libre, and the reader will find really funny texts. And this, of course, not Complete works but it was impossible to release an omnibus volume of several thousand pages... In General, the reader expect the unexpected.
Works by L. Petrushevskaya included in a list of 100 books recommended for extracurricular reading.
