Eighty-five-year-old Paulette's plan seems perfect: to play the role of a crazy old woman and force her son to pay for accommodation in a luxury boarding house on the French Riviera. But he unexpectedly sends her to an inconspicuous hotel, lost in the vicinity of Paris. A chalkboard with a menu on duty, checkered tablecloths, the smell of overcooked butter… The new guest dreams of only one thing: to get out of this hole as soon as possible! However, Paulette's inquisitive nature forces her to interfere in the affairs of the hotel's inhabitants. What are the mysterious letters found in Monsieur Georges' room hiding? Who is blackmailing Monsieur Yvon? And why does Juliette cry so often? One thing is for sure: Paulette's investigations will surprisingly change the fate of the guests and herself.
