Victor Pelevin is by far the most mysterious writer of his generation. "The Life of Insects" is a novel in the spirit of "post–socialist surrealism" with a whole collection of vivid types, with which the author describes our reality with caustic wit. Who and what can be seen behind the swarms of buzzing insects depends on the reader's point of view. . From the author of the bestsellers "Generation "P", "Chapaev and the Void", "Empire V", "iPhuck 10", "S. N. U. F. F." and many others. — Bright and stylish design for books that have become iconic. Pelevin's books are read, translated and discussed all over the world. — The main characters are insects who live, communicate and engage in self—reflection and search for their place in life. Philosophy, surrealism and wit are the main characters of the book, besides, of course, buzzing chitinous insects, identified by the author with people. The novel is full of both elegant and frank allusions to our reality. Pelevin, in his trademark postmodern style, describes events and inner experiences familiar to any of our contemporaries.
