For the first time in Russian, the first novel of the fantasy cycle "The Witch's Guide to Monsters" was published by the ABC publishing house. The twelve days after New Year's Eve are called Dark Days. It is only at this time that dangerous monsters of all kinds and stripes — ghouls, mermaids, wolfmen, samodivas, and others — can enter the human world. In the fortress city of Chernograd, the young witch Kosara is fighting evil spirits. As luck would have it, on New Year's Eve she has a hell of a lot of bad luck, and in order to escape from a powerful enemy, she is forced to give up her shadow and lose her magical powers with it. The witch without a shadow is doomed to perish, and Kosara turns to a suspiciously noble detective for help. All the evidence points in the same direction — Kosara's shadow is in the hands of the Serpent, the invincible King of Monsters. She had challenged him many times, and now he was hunting her. Will the witch have time to regain her magic, because she has only twelve days at her disposal?. . Fans of Lee Bardugo's "Grishivers" and Sapkowski's "The Witcher" will love the book.
