Ilʹi͡a Muromet͡s, Dobryni͡a Nikitich, Alësha Popovich, Svi͡atogor… Ėti i mnogie drugie geroi zemli Russkoĭ slavilisʹ ne tolʹko svoeĭ mogucheĭ siloĭ i udalʹi͡u, no i umom i smekalkoĭ. Khrabrye voiny, oni chestno nesli voinskui͡u sluzhbu, oberegai͡a rodnui͡u zemli͡u ot vragov, i vsegda goroĭ stoi͡ali za pravdu i spravedlivostʹ.

Since ancient times, the Russian people have composed epics – amazingly poetic tales about the feats of arms of the heroes. Ilya Muromets, Dobrynya Nikitich, Alyosha Popovich, Svyatogor… These and many other heroes of the Russian land were famous not only for their mighty strength and prowess, but also for their intelligence and wit. Brave warriors, they honestly performed military service, protecting their native land from enemies, and always stood up for truth and justice.
