There is a small building on Fifth Avenue in New York City, no different from the others. Its residents can't take a step without their elevator operator Deepak, who controls a mechanical elevator, an outlandish antique mechanism. The carefree life of the inhabitants of the house ends on the day when Deepak's colleague, the night elevator operator, falls down the stairs. Sanjay, Deepak's nephew, unexpectedly arrives in New York from Mumbai and saves the day by taking the victim's place. It never occurs to anyone who he really is... Chloe, who lives on the last, ninth floor, does not know about this either.
