The keys to the present are always gathering dust in the past. But does everyone have the courage to voluntarily open the storerooms of their memory, where treason and deception are locked up, lies are preserved? How often do our actions in the past ricochet our relatives, radically changing their lives?

The most accurate markers of the 70s-80s-90s of the twentieth century, down to everyday details: total ideological censorship of any sphere of life, blackmail and machinations of the KGB, as well as attempts by heroes to chip off their ghosts — all this is in the new novel by the outstanding Ukrainian writer Maria Matios "a woman can be trusted".

The greatcoats and methods of work of the MGB and punitive bodies from the writer's previous books have not gone away — they have migrated to modern offices and turned into more sophisticated games with victims.
