"A man and a poet are not the same thing. And yet they are connected. When we try to feel or imagine what kind of person the poet was, we are not motivated by simple curiosity. In my opinion, we hope to learn something important in life, to get closer to something that will not only give us the opportunity to better understand the poet's poems, but also in some mysterious way help us become ourselves."The significance of Vladislav Khodasevich's works (1886-1939) for Russian literature is enormous and multifaceted. His work encompasses poetry, criticism, memoir studies, and historical and literary studies, making him one of the most significant figures of the Silver Age and emigrant literature. The author of the preface is Dmitry Vedenyapin.
