. . . . 1757. The Seven Years' War raging in Europe reached the American colonies. The authorities of both warring powers — both England and France — use deceived or bribed Indians living in their territories in military operations. Blood is pouring out. Soldiers and peaceful colonists are dying — women, the elderly, and children. In these conditions, Natty Bumpo, nicknamed Hawkeye, Chingachgook and their companions will have to accomplish the almost impossible — safely deliver two beautiful sisters, Cora and Alice, to their father, the British colonel.
