Edith Wharton is the author of more than twenty novels and ten collections of short stories — the first female writer to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize, three times nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Her works, repeatedly filmed, have long been included in the golden fund of American literature. The three novels included in this volume can be called the brightest and most brilliant works of Edith Wharton. The novel "The Age of Innocence", which brought the author the Pulitzer Prize, tells a fascinating story woven of intrigue, suspicion, guilt and passion. Its main character, a lawyer leading an ordinary life, dreaming of a real passion, learns from his own experience how dangerous dreams can be that turn into reality. The novel "In the House of Fun" tells the story of a young beauty Lily Bart, dreaming of a profitable marriage. However, despite the abundance of fans, Lily repeatedly misses profitable chances, consumed either by the demon of self-destruction, or by the expectation of great love. The heroes of the novel "In the rays of the Twinkling Moon" Susie Branch and Nick Lansing are smart, beautiful, with a lot of rich and influential friends — but penniless. After the wedding, they go on a trip to Europe, where a couple in love is waiting for a lot of unexpected adventures, temptations and discoveries.
