The collection also includes the novella "Night Flight", written in 1930. The events of that winter formed the basis of a new French film based on a true story about a key episode in Exupery's life. In 1930, French airmail pilot Henri Guillaume, who was making a night flight through the Alps, disappears without a trace during a snowstorm. His friend and colleague Exupery participates in the rescue expedition.
