Now is the time when many people have to look for their home anew, gluing its image in the scenery of foreign cities and unfamiliar streets. It hurts, but hope is in this book. The answer to the question, where is my place now, is being sought (and found!) Dmitry Glukhovsky, Polina Barskova, Dmitry Bykov, Mikhail Yampolsky, Polina Aronson, Elena Kostyuchenko, Anton Dolin, Elena Fanailova... The "Era of total homelessness" (in the words of the compiler Zinaida Pronchenko) gathered 24 very different authors under one cover. They all talk about home. The loss of a home, the dream of a home, the search for, the finding of a home, the memory of that home that remained beyond the seas, beyond the mountains. The collection "House Number" is a collaboration between the publishing house Vidim Books, the publication Republic and the literary workshop "Strange People". The stories and candid essays are united by a painful and burning theme that divided people into those who fled, those who left and those who stayed. Vladimir Sorokin's new play "Purple Snow" concludes the book.
