This book includes all the short prose by Dorothy Lee Sayers, with the exception of stories from the author's collection "Lord Peter examines the body."In addition to the well-known Lord Peter Wimsey, another colorful amateur detective appears in these stories — the enterprising wine and spirits merchant Montague Egg. He does not seek to investigate crimes, but he constantly finds himself in the epicenter of events: he stumbles upon the corpse of a regular customer, finds himself in a bar where all the visitors match the signs of a wanted murderer, or boards a train from which a financier suspected of major embezzlement disappears without a trace. You will find more than thirty fascinating and full of surprises stories about extremely unusual crimes.
