When did Avalon, Excalibur, and the Holy Grail appear in Arthurian legends? How did the legends of the noble robber Robin Hood originate, and which ghost of the British wastelands became the prototype of the hound of the Baskervilles? You will find answers to these and other questions on the pages of this book, and color and black-and-white illustrations will complement the fascinating journey through legendary Britain, which inspired John Tolkien, J.
