В начале весны еврейский народ отмечает веселый праздник Пурим. Истории этого праздника посвящена книга Танаха, которая называется Мегилат Эстер (“Свиток Эстер”). В дни персидского царя Ахашвероша министр Ѓаман задумал уничтожить всех евреев Персидской империи. Бросая жребий (отсюда и название праздника, «пурим» на аккадском — жребий), он назначил датой уничтожения евреев тринадцатый день месяца адар. Благодаря старанию жены царя, еврейки Эстер, и ее родственника Мордехая Ѓаман был повешен. При этом его указ не был отменен, однако евреи получили право защищаться и убивать своих врагов 13 адара. В путеводителе по Пуриму рассматриваются несколько тем. Приводятся данные о Мегилат Эстер, ее особенностях, ее связи с другими книгами и событиями Танаха. At the beginning of spring, the Jewish people celebrate the merry holiday of Purim. The book of the Tanakh, called Megillat Esther (“Scroll of Esther”), is dedicated to the history of this holiday. Thanks to the efforts of the king's wife, Esther, a Jew, and her relative Mordechai, Haman was hanged. At the same time, his decree was not revoked, but the Jews received the right to defend themselves and kill their enemies on 13 Adar. The Purim travel guide covers several topics. The data on Megillat Esther, its features, its connection with other books and events of the Tanakh are given. Special attention is paid to the historicity of the characters in it and the background of the events described. The reader is presented with a commentary on Megillat Esther and a traditional account of the history of Purim. The book tells about the month of Adar, when Purim is celebrated, and its features, and outlines some of the ideas and lessons of Purim that are relevant and important to our generation. In addition, it contains the laws and customs of the month of Adar and the holiday of Purim.
