Daniil, a former major from the USSR, becomes the unwitting architect of the new Russia. Armed with knowledge from the future — from railways to military technology and social reforms — our hero transforms the Russian Empire. But every change has its price: unrest in Poland, the assassination of the emperor's brother, and resistance to reform are not without consequences. And these consequences can affect not only Daniel himself, but also what is more important to him than his own life — his family. Constitutional reform is coming, the Crimean War is on the threshold…Will his descendants become heroes or victims of great changes?
