Assistant Detective Nicole Evans is obsessed with the mystery of her parents' disappearance. But her first investigation in the new department turns into a nightmare: a serial killer, nicknamed the "White Elephant," methodically destroys police officers, turning victims' body parts into tools for further crimes. Every murder is a link in a chain, every porcelain figurine at the scene is a mockery of the law. The maniac leaves no trace and anticipates all the steps of the investigation. When Detective Marcus Koening turns to a genius psychopath for help, Nicole understands: She's a pawn in a monstrous game. And the ending will be terrifying. "The White Elephant" is a tense detective thriller full of unexpected twists and psychological depth, in the spirit of Stieg Larsson's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and Thomas Harris' "The Silence of the Lambs."
