The boundless cosmos holds secrets that ordinary earthlings cannot touch. . . Dr. Melody Adams, a physicist at the Gemini North Observatory and a NASA specialist, was studying Pluto in the night sky when the numbers on the instruments reflected the incredible: a new object had appeared in the Solar System. Thrilled by the discovery, Melody assumes that an extraterrestrial spacecraft is approaching Pluto. The furious scientific community ridicules her, and the physics scientist is dismissed from her job in disgrace. However, two years later, the Secret Service is forced to turn to Melody for help: an object is approaching Saturn. And it slows down.
