In the very center of Hitler's Berlin, a Jewish girl, Anna, survived and did not fall into the millstones of the Holocaust. She was saved from deportation to a concentration camp by a Muslim doctor, Mohammed Helmi, who, risking his life, led the Gestapo by the nose. Helmi was awarded the title of Righteous among the Nations, which is awarded by the Israeli memorial Museum "Yad Vashem" to people who saved Jews from extermination during World War II.Anna's story, similar to a detective novel, was reconstructed by Ronen Steinke based on documents and memoirs of participants in the events. The author also managed to convey the unique spirit of cosmopolitan Berlin between the two world wars, giving the narrative a special atmosphere.
